the business

A construction company with the usual paperwork load: quantities to measure for tenders and changes, a steady stream of invoices, delivery notes and letters by email, and monthly applications for payment put together by hand.

what we built

Three agents working on the same project record. A takeoff agent measures quantities straight from the building model. An inbox and document agent reads emailed documents, including scanned delivery notes, and files them in a register. A payment applications agent prepares each month's application and daywork sheets with the evidence attached.

how it works

Every figure can be traced back to where it came from: an element in the model, a document or a timesheet. Quantities are checked against a hand measure before anyone relies on them, and nothing goes to the client until a person has approved it.

what changed

Quantities, documents and applications come from one evidence base instead of separate spreadsheets and inboxes. The company and its projects are not named here.
